Requirements
- Have proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining backend software in production environments.
- Understand software design principles and evaluate architectural tradeoffs.
- Have experience designing and maintaining APIs, distributed services, and data-intensive applications.
- Have experience debugging complex problems across services, infrastructure, and data.
- Understand relational and/or NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, data modeling, and query performance.
- Be familiar with incident management and production logging, monitoring, and observability.
- Be familiar with CI/CD practices and modern deployment environments.
- Have experience building solutions with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Have experience with event-driven or distributed architectures, such as AWS.
- Demonstrate mentorship, technical leadership, and effective collaboration across Engineering, Product, and other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve systems and services that power the Organizer platform.
- Own problems from discovery through deployment and production.
- Evaluate technical alternatives and tradeoffs, and recommend solutions suited to the problem.
- Identify missing information, ask questions, and move ambiguous work forward.
- Consider how technical decisions affect reliability, maintainability, other services, and future engineering work.
- Share context, provide feedback, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices.
- Communicate risks, uncertainty, dependencies, and changing assumptions early.
- Improve reliability, documentation, testing, observability, and developer experience while delivering product work.
