Requirements
- Have 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Have 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Have experience building highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Be proficient in developing web apps using declarative UI frameworks such as React Native, React, or Vue.
- Be proficient in designing, developing, and launching systems at scale.
- Have experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through a technical and execution plan.
- Write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
- Have a track record of gathering and iterating on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Have a related bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to critical, business-impacting projects.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout product development to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes that support the team.
- Own team operations and availability by establishing monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
- Set code review and design standards, and advocate for them beyond the team through writing and tech talks.
- Develop team talent by providing feedback and guidance and leading by example.
