Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Approximately 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend development and distributed systems.
- Experience building and launching software products or features from the ground up, and maintaining and improving existing codebases.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Go.
- Understanding of distributed systems, REST API design, database schema design, and multithreading.
- Practical experience with Linux environments, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes-based application deployment.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or similar relational database management systems.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in daily engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of security principles for distributed, multi-tenant systems.
- Networking technologies such as BGP, SD-WAN, network overlays, or cloud networking are an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Own the software development lifecycle from initial scoping and technical design through implementation, deployment, and production management.
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale distributed systems for multi-cloud networking environments.
- Develop and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Java, Spring, Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
- Use AI-powered development tools, large language models, and agentic workflows to improve engineering workflows.
- Monitor production services, respond to customer escalations and on-call issues, troubleshoot, analyze telemetry, and resolve bugs.
- Understand existing codebases and implement sustainable technical improvements.
- Apply software engineering principles to API architecture, database schema design, multithreading, and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed engineering teams on multiple projects and product objectives.
