Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years working at a senior-level scope.
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core and C#, including scalable APIs and backend services.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools and technologies to improve engineering productivity, automation, development cycle time, or software quality.
- Ability to apply AI responsibly and securely, assess AI-generated outputs critically, and follow governance-aware development practices.
- Experience communicating technical updates, solutions, and issue resolutions to customers and business partners in an international environment.
- Experience with AWS cloud environments and Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Solid understanding of automated testing strategies and software quality best practices.
- Ability to mentor colleagues, share technical knowledge, and positively influence team performance.
- Ability to make architectural and technical trade-offs with sound judgment and demonstrate ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset, including strengthening systems, processes, and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend and frontend systems for a tax compliance platform.
- Build and enhance ASP.NET Core applications and backend services for tax return processing and eFile engines.
- Maintain existing excise tax returns and develop tax forms for jurisdictions across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
- Integrate AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, and architectural exploration into development workflows.
- Contribute to AI-powered product capabilities for automation, data processing, and customer-facing intelligence.
- Improve deployment frequency, code quality, and automated test coverage through CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices.
- Strengthen system reliability, reduce production incidents, and improve observability through monitoring and architectural decisions.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to decisions involving complex, distributed systems.
- Mentor team members, provide feedback, and promote technical standards, ownership, and accountability.
- Collaborate with international engineering, product, and business teams to deliver solutions aligned with customer and business needs.
