Requirements
- Have 3+ years of back-end development experience with Python or Scala.
- Have 2–3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge (including Pipes), DynamoDB and S3.
- Have practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, including data modelling and query optimisation.
- Have experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Know good coding practices, unit and integration testing, code reviews and version control with Git.
- Have experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly CloudFormation.
- Be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Previous Scala experience, or a Kotlin or Java background, is a plus.
- Experience with CloudWatch, X-Ray or similar monitoring tools is a plus.
- Understanding of HL IT products and the container shipping business is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain back-end services and APIs on AWS.
- Build serverless and event-driven features using Lambda, SQS and EventBridge.
- Write clean, tested and maintainable code, and take part in code reviews.
- Work with product owners, front-end developers and architects to deliver features from start to finish.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and improve services running in production.
