- Have working knowledge of API-driven payment architecture and rails including ACH/NACHA, RTP, FedNow, and Visa Direct.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, criminal justice, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience is accepted.
- CAMS, CFE, or equivalent certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain monitoring rules across ACH, RTP, FedNow, debit networks, and other payment rails.
- Develop risk-based scenarios for typologies such as structuring, velocity anomalies, and rapid movement of funds, and identify coverage gaps.
- Backtest and tune rules to improve detection and reduce false positives, documenting rationale, configuration, testing results, and changes.
- Investigate potentially suspicious transactions and customer activity, and document findings, dispositions, and recommendations.
- Prepare suspicious activity referrals to sponsor banks and respond to information requests and follow-up reviews.
- Track alert volumes, backlogs, case aging, false-positive rates, rule performance, and investigation outcomes.
- Query and analyze transaction data to identify emerging risks, performance issues, and monitoring coverage gaps.
- Partner with Product and Engineering on monitoring capabilities, data availability, and case-management workflows.
- Support sponsor-bank inquiries, audits, and examinations with documentation and analysis.
