Requirements
- Demonstrate strong skills in vanilla JavaScript.
- Be able to ship Rails features without close supervision.
- Write SQL beyond simple queries, including joins and aggregations.
- Identify and address N+1 problems in PostgreSQL.
- Write useful automated tests by default using Minitest.
- Use semantic HTML and global CSS with design tokens.
- Have experience with Hotwire, including Turbo and Stimulus.
- Drive a well-scoped feature to completion and identify adjacent work needed for a polished result.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain interactive UI components for the Omnigive donation form using vanilla JavaScript.
- Connect frontend components to the Ruby on Rails backend.
- Write idiomatic Rails code using ActiveRecord, controllers, and ViewComponents.
- Analyze requirements with a Jobs-to-be-Done lens and consider existing user capabilities, edge cases, and error states.
- Review peers’ pull requests and communicate blockers proactively in async channels.
- Ship user-facing work safely while balancing speed and quality.
- Write clear pull request descriptions and record non-obvious decisions in commit messages.
- Update internal documentation when information is stale.
