Requirements
- Have 6+ years of experience in full-stack or backend development.
- Bring production experience with Python and Django, including Django REST Framework.
- Have production experience with React and TypeScript.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Demonstrate PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and migrations.
- Have experience designing and integrating REST APIs and using async processing tools such as Celery and Redis.
- Use unit testing with pytest and end-to-end testing with Playwright or similar tools.
- Have experience deploying containerized applications to a cloud environment; Azure is preferred.
- Have experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Copilot, including writing clear specs and reviewing generated code.
- Bring strong written and spoken English communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.
- Healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or HIPAA-regulated data experience is a plus.
- Azure services, GitHub Actions, spreadsheet-to-code work, versioned or effective-dated data, PDF generation, and consulting or client-facing experience are nice-to-haves.
Responsibilities
- Build web applications end-to-end with Django, Django REST Framework, and React.
- Design and document versioned REST APIs for other teams and systems.
- Implement calculation-heavy business logic, including insurance rating and renewal rules, and support it with automated tests.
- Integrate third-party APIs and enterprise data platforms, handling rate limits, retries, and audit trails.
- Contribute to architecture decisions across projects that share services and conventions.
- Work directly with client stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate results.
