Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience building, debugging, and optimizing scalable Java backend applications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Java 8–17, object-oriented design, design patterns, multithreading, and concurrency.
- Have hands-on Oracle development experience in production and knowledge of indexing, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and transaction behavior.
- Have advanced SQL skills, including performance troubleshooting.
- Have experience with production database operations, including backup and restore, high availability, disaster recovery, and failover.
- Have experience executing database changes with minimal downtime.
- Have experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito.
- Have experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP, and Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
- Have hands-on Linux/Unix experience and scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Be able to work independently, own technical tasks, and proactively identify and resolve blockers.
- Have experience collaborating with cross-functional Scrum teams and leading technical discussions.
- Have an Upper-Intermediate+ level of English.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend applications.
- Design the Oracle database storage schema for a new application.
- Support planning and execution of a future MySQL-to-Oracle migration.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to improve database performance.
- Troubleshoot complex application and database issues in production environments.
- Support production database operations and implement changes with minimal downtime.
- Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit and Mockito.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical design and implementation decisions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for relevant project activities.
