Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, or a related technical or business field.
- Have 8+ years of successful experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or related enterprise software pre-sales professional, or 10+ years in client-facing Professional Services or technical consulting heavily involved in enterprise sales scenarios.
- Bring recent hands-on programming experience or technical fluency in modern development environments using Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, or C++.
- Have database proficiency, including SQL, HTML, and XML.
- Demonstrate communication and influencing skills, including deep discovery, requirements analysis, executive presentations, and engagement with C-level audiences.
- Be willing to travel up to 50% to customer locations throughout the assigned region.
- Preferred: Have experience selling into financial services, particularly Application Development Platforms, AI-enabled automation, or Case Management frameworks.
- Preferred: Have contributed reusable demos, technical assets, enablement content, or industry points of view.
Responsibilities
- Own technical strategy for strategic accounts and complex sales campaigns, co-selling with Account Executives and sharing accountability for pipeline health and revenue contribution.
- Lead customer roadmap sessions, transformation workshops, and executive visioning discussions.
- Scope, design, and deliver custom technical Proofs of Concepts and Proofs of Values with executive sponsorship and clear success criteria.
- Assess customer IT landscapes, including core banking systems, CRM, data, workflow, AI, partner solutions, and modern web or enterprise development systems, to integrate Appian into enterprise environments.
- Direct technical responses and functional strategy for RFIs, RFPs, security reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Share customer requirements with Product Management to inform the product roadmap.
- Coach peers, lead field enablement sessions, and contribute reusable assets, blueprints, and customer success stories.
