Hold a Master’s in Computer Science and have 2+ years of backend software engineering experience, or hold a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and have 4+ years of experience.
Have backend engineering experience focused on Java and Node.js.
Have experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB, including writing queries, designing schemas, and ensuring data security.
Be familiar with designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
Have experience using Jira for sprint planning and task and bug tracking.
Be proficient with modern IDEs such as VS Code.
Understand software development best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing.
Have experience with AWS and GCP, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications.
Have experience with application virtualization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
Have experience building microservices architectures.
Have demonstrable contributions to open-source projects.

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js frameworks such as NestJS.
Build scalable systems using event-streaming technologies such as Kafka.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement platform features and functionality.
Refactor and improve existing codebases for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Develop RESTful APIs using best practices and design patterns.
Work with cloud technologies.
Test and validate new ideas independently and incorporate them while sharing them with the team.
