Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- 3+ years managing engineers.
- Background in financial services, specifically credit or lending.
- Proficiency in machine learning.
- Experience with tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic ML.
- Strong engineering skills and ability to provide hands-on technical leadership.
- Ability to work with code and architecture, from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture.
- Comfort working through ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Set the team’s technical strategy and connect engineering work to business-impacting underwriting system projects.
- Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and risk throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are understood and managed.
- Provide engineers with feedback and guidance, and lead by example.
- Partner with engineering, product, and risk leaders to design, implement, and scale machine learning solutions.
