Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in data modeling, data architecture, data warehousing, or related enterprise data disciplines.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Third Normal Form (3NF) modeling and relational database design, including normalization and data integrity.
- In-depth knowledge of dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas, facts, dimensions, and hierarchies.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, architecture, implementation, and performance optimization.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex queries, data validation, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable, high-performance enterprise data models.
- Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and technology leaders.
- Experience with ERwin or ER/Studio for enterprise data modeling and documentation is preferred.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and other enterprise cloud data platforms is preferred.
- Exposure to Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and SAP data environments is preferred.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, metadata management, data integration, data governance, and master data management is preferred.
- Ability to lead modeling initiatives, establish technical standards, communicate design decisions, and guide teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications, financial reporting, analytics, and data products.
- Apply Third Normal Form (3NF) principles to build normalized relational structures and maintain data integrity.
- Develop dimensional models using star and snowflake schemas, including facts, dimensions, and hierarchies.
- Design and optimize data warehouse architectures for data integration, storage, transformation, and retrieval.
- Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries to validate models, investigate discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business processes, reporting requirements, and data relationships into modeling solutions.
- Establish and maintain data modeling standards, naming conventions, metadata, documentation, and design practices.
- Work with data architects, data engineers, ETL/ELT teams, and analytics professionals to support model implementation.
- Assess existing data structures and architectures, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Support data governance, master data management, and data quality initiatives; lead design reviews, mentor team members, and provide technical guidance.
