- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 6 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm, at a public technology or fintech company, with 6+ years focused on technical accounting.
Requirements
- Hold an active CPA license.
- Have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Have at least 6 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm, public technology company, or fintech company.
- Have 6+ years focused on technical accounting.
- Bring deep expertise in ASC 606, ASC 310, and ASC 326.
- Have hands-on experience with ASC 718, ASC 260, and ASC 805.
- Bring experience in SaaS, payments, or platform businesses with transaction-based revenue; this is preferred.
- Have a track record of writing technical memos for complex, judgmental transactions and defending accounting conclusions with auditors.
- Be able to explain technical accounting in clear, concise terms to executives and business partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead the revenue recognition strategy.
- Manage complex, non-routine transactions.
- Oversee stock-based compensation accounting and forecasting.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and other stakeholders to provide technical accounting guidance and ensure US GAAP compliance.
- Draft and maintain technical accounting memos.
- Review complex, non-standard customer contracts and partnership agreements for revenue recognition treatment, standalone selling price allocations, and gross-versus-net presentation.
- Maintain and update accounting policies.
- Monitor FASB and SEC updates affecting accounting policies and procedures, and implement required changes.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors on revenue, equity, and other complex transaction matters, resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
