Requirements
- Have 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Have 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
- Have 2+ years of experience managing managers.
- Have led a multi-team engineering organization through a multi-year technical strategy.
- Have experience translating ambiguous requirements into deliverables that shipped.
- Have the technical depth to guide architecture, reliability, and quality decisions across a portfolio of systems.
- Be able to make investment and prioritization decisions when consensus is incomplete, and change course when evidence changes.
- Be able to explain strategy, risk, and tradeoffs to engineers, cross-functional partners, and executives.
- Have grown managers into senior leaders and built teams that include and value diverse perspectives.
- Have equivalent practical experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Participate in the required on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams focused on integrations with partners and processors, and on internationalization.
- Define the technical direction, long-term roadmap, and strategic initiatives for Cards.
- Guide architectural choices and reliability and quality decisions across a portfolio of systems.
- Hire for growing teams in Spain and Poland.
- Set a high standard and build team culture across the organization.
- Model the use of AI to build quickly and improve how teams work.
- Partner with stakeholders across Affirm, including in the EU and US, to deliver scalable, reliable, high-performing products.
- Mentor and lead managers and engineers, and build ownership and accountability across teams.
