Job Details

Experience working in large, established codebases.
Use sound judgment to decide when to extend, rework or replace a system.
Experience shaping architecture within an inherited system, including making data ownership decisions.
Ability to self-start, work through ambiguity and make decisions independently.
Ability to question requirements and identify when changing a process is preferable to writing code.
An AI-first mindset and experience using LLMs and AI tools as productivity multipliers.
Experience making systems observable and testable, including instrumenting systems to answer operational questions.
Experience setting a test strategy for a system with patchy coverage.
Ruby on Rails experience is helpful.
Usage-based billing experience, platform or internal tooling experience, or accountability for systems subject to financial or compliance audit are bonuses.

Run the systems that manage customer packages, entitlements, limits and billing, along with daily tools for Finance, Customer Success and Support.
Own problem design and delivery, including decisions about whether to extend, rework or replace existing systems.
Build administration tools that let staff review customer purchases, billing and limits, make changes and trust the results.
Partner with Finance, Customer Success, Support and Engineering to understand their processes and evaluate requirements.
Use LLMs and AI tools for planning, spikes, code and documentation while owning correctness and architectural quality.
Make customer limits and invoice generation explainable without requiring engineers to inspect code.
Set testing strategy and production-readiness standards for systems where mistakes can cost money.
