Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Bring 5+ years of network engineering or architecture experience.
- Have 3+ years designing and leading enterprise-scale Cisco ThousandEyes deployments.
- Demonstrate expertise in ThousandEyes test types, including Network, DNS, HTTP Server, Page Load, Voice, and BGP, and agent types including Cloud, Enterprise, and Endpoint.
- Have expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Cisco Viptela or Meraki SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity architectures.
- Have experience with AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, or GCP Interconnect.
- Have client-facing discovery, architecture design, and presales or Statement of Work scoping experience.
- Have scripting and automation skills with Python, ThousandEyes API, and Terraform.
- Hold CCNP, CCIE, or an equivalent advanced networking certification.
- Have experience integrating ThousandEyes with ITSM or SIEM platforms and observability stacks.
- Demonstrate executive communication, consulting, and presentation skills for C-level and IT leadership stakeholders.
- Be able to mentor technical teams and lead globally distributed, cross-time-zone engagements.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery workshops and architecture assessments for Cisco ThousandEyes solutions.
- Serve as the Level 3+ escalation point for complex BGP, routing, SD-WAN, and platform issues.
- Define reference architectures, agent deployment standards, dashboard frameworks, and integration patterns.
- Partner with Sales, Presales, and Solution Architecture teams to scope engagements, develop Statements of Work, size effort and pricing, and present solutions.
- Lead onboarding and migration engagements, including agent rollouts and monitoring-tool rationalization.
- Guide integrations between ThousandEyes telemetry and network, cloud, SD-WAN, ITSM, SIEM, and observability environments.
- Lead client Quarterly Business Reviews and roadmap sessions using ThousandEyes data to make recommendations.
- Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 engineers through runbooks, knowledge transfer, and escalation reviews.
- Drive automation and API-based integrations using ThousandEyes API, Python, and Terraform.
- Evaluate Cisco ThousandEyes capabilities and lead proof-of-concept efforts.
