Requirements
- Hold a master’s degree in School Counseling or a doctoral or other terminal degree from an accredited college or university, depending on the needs of the course being taught.
- Hold a valid Pupil Personnel School Counselor Credential or a reciprocal credential from another state.
- Have a minimum of three years of PK-12 school counselor experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
- Be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Be able to explain complex requirements clearly and concisely.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while adapting workflow to department and student needs.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, university employees, the Registrar’s Office, and academic departments.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate classroom and distance/distributed learning.
- Prepare courses and syllabi.
- Coordinate and plan class curriculum.
- Assess and evaluate learners.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Hold office hours and meet with students.
