Job Details

Experience: At least 5 years in UK accounting practice, including at least 2 running your own portfolio of 150 or more SME clients.

Be a fully qualified member of ACCA, ICAEW (ACA) or ICAS (CA).
Have at least 5 years of experience in UK accounting practice.
Have at least 2 years running a portfolio of 150 or more SME clients.
Have expert knowledge of UK statutory accounts, including FRS 102 and FRS 105, for private limited companies.
Have strong knowledge of corporation tax and VAT for private limited companies, including preparing and reviewing returns.
Have experience preparing management accounts and explaining them to business owners in plain terms.
Have experience reviewing and managing a team’s work, including remote or offshore team members.
Be confident using Xero or a similar cloud accounting package.
Be based in South Africa with legal working rights.

Run a portfolio of UK small-business clients end to end, covering year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns and confirmation statements.
Review and sign off the team’s work, and coach team members to get it right the first time.
Prepare management accounts for clients who need them.
Speak with clients to explain their accounts and what the figures mean for their business.
Follow up early when client delays put deadlines at risk, keep records, and explain the consequences to clients.
Maintain accurate client records and workflow data.
Work with Product, Tech, Sales, Support and Onboarding to address problems at their source.
Use AI tools in products and workflows and help shape their development.
