Requirements
- Have 5+ years of work experience building highly scalable products.
- Have 5+ years of programming experience in Java or a similar object-oriented language, with clean code practices.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of object-oriented programming.
- Have experience contributing to architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Have experience working with Product teams to understand requirements and define technical work.
- Have experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Have experience delivering observability and improving early warning systems, such as with Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus.
- Be familiar with cloud solutions, AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and automation.
- Have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Desired: experience with on-call support for mission-critical customer systems, optimizing and debugging complex SQL queries, and debugging production systems.
- Desired: proficiency in Linux and containerization with Kubernetes; gRPC, Python, TypeScript, React, and Apache Kafka are nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate new features on current services and build new services from scratch.
- Build core billing platform services that support the transition to a next-generation architecture.
- Design and build platform services and REST APIs using AWS cloud infrastructure and related technologies.
- Troubleshoot and fix operational issues, and improve troubleshooting procedures and tools.
- Execute the full software development lifecycle.
- Develop flowcharts and documentation to identify solutions.
- Write well-designed, testable code and document and maintain software functionality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
