Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience building and shipping software; 7+ years preferred.
- Have a track record of owning significant work end to end.
- Apply strong engineering judgment when assessing solutions, including AI-generated code.
- Approach development with a product mindset focused on users and outcomes.
- Use modern AI development tools and coding agents fluently, while verifying, testing, and owning shipped work.
- Adapt quickly to new languages and frameworks; prior Elixir and Phoenix experience is welcome but not required.
- Have a strong foundation in software design and architecture.
- Understand practices that support reliable systems, including testing, continuous integration, code review, and containerization.
- Lead projects, mentor others, and help raise engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Own features and problems from understanding user needs through design, delivery, and support.
- Design and build full-stack solutions for internal and public web applications.
- Use AI tools and agents, then review, test, and harden the resulting work.
- Engage across analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and support.
- Lead code reviews and mentor engineers.
- Work directly with end users and stakeholders to understand business problems.
- Set estimates and milestones, balance technical risk against cost and deadlines, and keep work on track.
- Help shape the engineering team’s future roadmap.
