Requirements
- Bring senior product leadership experience and a track record of taking complex products from strategy through launch and learning from results.
- Have experience building products for developers, security teams, or other technical users; security, infrastructure, or B2B software experience is ideal.
- Demonstrate technical fluency to discuss architecture and implementation trade-offs, ask informed questions, and earn engineers’ trust.
- Apply sound product judgment to distinguish important problems from competing requests, set boundaries, and make decisions with incomplete information.
- Understand how customer value translates into business results and how technical products are evaluated, adopted, and expanded within organizations.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, explain complex problems simply, and document decision rationale.
- Take a hands-on approach to building without an established playbook and creating structure where useful.
- Preferred: experience with software supply chain security, application security, vulnerability management, or developer tooling.
- Preferred: experience building a product function at an early-stage company while continuing to ship.
Responsibilities
- Set product strategy across Socket’s portfolio, connecting customer needs, market opportunities, and technical strengths to focused priorities.
- Join customer calls and learn from support and sales conversations to understand customer problems behind feature requests.
- Partner with Engineering to define product requirements and success metrics, navigate technical trade-offs, and give engineers ownership of implementation.
- Balance customer commitments, support escalations, reliability, new opportunities, and engineering capacity when making prioritization decisions.
- Define intended customer impact and assumptions to validate, then use adoption data and customer feedback to measure outcomes and guide next steps.
- Partner with Sales on positioning, demos, and launches.
- Plan and communicate product work, keeping priorities, decisions, roadmaps, and customer-facing commitments clear.
- Grow the product function by shaping hiring, collaboration, and team development while staying close to the work.
