Requirements
- Solid experience with Go, Rust, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with large distributed systems.
- Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
- Experience delivering projects from gathering requirements and brainstorming through shipping a product to customers.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant software that is maintainable by others.
- Ability to analyze complex challenges, design modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a fully remote team.
- Bonus: Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles or personal projects.
- Bonus: Familiarity with on-call work, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning their reliability, performance, and availability.
- Develop features for Grafana’s next-generation storage layer, Search, and Folders.
- Drive projects from initial ideation through operations after they reach customers.
- Work with the team to deliver features and iterate based on results.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you run.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team’s direct scope.
- Mentor and support teammates and participate in design discussions.
- Learn the Grafana Cloud product, its customers, and the codebase of a large distributed system.
