Requirements
- 8+ years building production software.
- 3+ years directly managing software engineers, including responsibility for hiring and performance.
- Experience with C# and .NET.
- Continue writing and shipping production code while managing.
- Use coding agents daily in your own engineering work.
- Experience rolling AI engineering practices out to a team.
- Experience with teams that built or operated systems under HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, or comparable regulation.
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
- Angular, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and AWS experience are strong pluses.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers across time zones, providing one-on-ones, feedback, growth plans, and performance conversations.
- Hire engineers and shape the hiring bar with the Head of Engineering.
- Lead code reviews, testing, and attention to production behavior across the team.
- Own delivery from problem to production, including planning, estimation, risk, and release readiness.
- Partner with product management to shape work and clarify stories before development starts.
- Lead incident response for the team's systems and ensure incidents result in platform improvements.
- Ship code weekly, including features, fixes, and tooling improvements built with coding agents.
- Review pull requests and hold AI-drafted work to the same quality bar as other work.
- Evaluate AI engineering tools and workflows, and roll out proven practices to the team and organization.
- Grow engineers who can take on future leadership.
