Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of technical engineering experience, including coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 6+ years of experience in software, network, service, or systems engineering, or industrial controls, or equivalent experience designing complex distributed IT or research-compute solutions.
- Experience with cloud, distributed systems, or high-performance computing is preferred.
- Experience designing research AI application environments on a major cloud provider, including big data analytics, scale-out HPC/AI applications, and GPU-centric machine learning and deep learning, is preferred.
- Proficiency with Azure-native IaaS/SaaS orchestration and configuration automation frameworks is preferred.
- Proficiency with Linux system administration, SaaS development, containerized application development, and automation tools is preferred.
- Experience securing environments on major cloud providers to an industry certification standard such as PCI or HITRUST is preferred.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Bitbucket in a cloud-centric environment is preferred.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement applications for managing Microsoft HLS AI Research platforms.
- Expand automation, configuration management, scalable software, and infrastructure services.
- Work with engineering, architecture, and supporting divisions on large-scale, cloud-centric research platforms.
- Design and implement tools and processes to automate configuration, deployment, monitoring, and operational activities.
- Develop and maintain application stacks from the operating system through custom applications in cloud-based computing environments.
- Advise internal clients on cloud architecture, hardening, monitoring, incident detection and response, and security gap analysis.
- Secure and maintain the products, tools, and processes under your responsibility.
- Resolve priority misalignments between service teams and share information with partners and stakeholders.
