Requirements
- Have proven experience operating production databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Valkey.
- Understand database replication, high availability, backup and recovery, and upgrades.
- Have practical experience with Kafka and Flink for data streaming and real-time processing.
- Have strong knowledge of DevOps practices, continuous integration and delivery, infrastructure automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Have hands-on experience with Python, Bash, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible.
- Have strong SQL skills and experience with query tuning, indexing, and database engine configuration.
- Have operational experience with public cloud environments; Microsoft Azure is preferred.
- Have working knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Be fluent in English.
- Advanced Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) knowledge, especially for stateful and data-intensive workloads, is desirable.
- Experience with CloudNativePG or other database operators, Linux administration, managed data services, Debezium, GitLab CI/CD, or GitOps workflows is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, operate, and continuously improve data platforms for databases, real-time streaming, and data processing.
- Manage cloud-native data services across Kubernetes environments and managed services, including DBaaS solutions.
- Evaluate and prototype technologies and service providers, assessing security, compliance, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and maintenance using DevOps and SRE practices.
- Develop reusable infrastructure modules, automation workflows, and standardized deployment paths for self-service data services.
- Contribute to reducing manual operations and technical debt, and to migrating and modernizing legacy data systems.
- Design and maintain highly available, resilient architectures, including backup, recovery, replication, and failover strategies.
- Monitor and optimize platform reliability and performance using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Investigate production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
- Analyze resource utilization, capacity, and growth trends; apply FinOps principles and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
