Requirements
- Have 3+ years of product design experience, ideally owning features end to end in a B2B or SaaS product.
- Show in a portfolio how you framed problems, including at least one case study that starts from a fuzzy problem with no spec.
- Have experience designing data-heavy products such as dashboards, analytics, or reporting tools.
- Have worked within or contributed to a design system and understand how components and patterns scale.
- Bring strong product opinions and be comfortable defending and revising ideas.
- Be curious about AI products, ideally with hands-on exploration.
- Have strong written communication in English.
- Be fluent in Figma and use AI tools in your everyday workflow.
- Be based between US Central Time (UTC−6) and Central European Time (UTC+1).
- Be available for core collaboration hours of 9:00 AM–12:00 PM Eastern, or the stated local equivalents.
Responsibilities
- Shape Spate's core dashboard product, helping decide what to build and why from early conversations through launch.
- Identify user pain points through customer calls, interviews, feedback, and usage data.
- Frame problems, explore options, and make the case for product directions.
- Choose appropriate design deliverables, including written proposals, user flows, prototypes, and Figma specifications.
- Define how AI features should work across chats, reports, and inline summaries.
- Design how AI experiences show insight sources and handle loading, uncertainty, and incorrect answers.
- Shape the voice and structure of AI-generated insights.
- Own design system principles and the Figma library, partnering with frontend engineers to align it with the React component library.
- Develop data visualization standards and patterns for AI features.
- Co-own product metrics, user feedback tracking, and quality evaluation for LLM features.
