Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Platform/Infrastructure, or SRE role.
- Demonstrate a track record operating large-scale, high-availability, high-performance production systems.
- Have experience delivering multi-quarter platform work in complex environments with multiple Kubernetes clusters.
- Have deep production Kubernetes experience, including upgrades, debugging, and operational ownership.
- Use Helm to package and deploy workloads.
- Have strong Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code skills across multiple environments, with GitOps and least privilege as guiding principles.
- Have experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines at scale, such as with GitHub Actions, including releases to multiple production locations.
- Have production GitOps continuous delivery experience with Argo CD or a comparable transferable tool.
- Have production Google Cloud experience, ideally with GKE, and be comfortable with day-to-day GCP operations.
- Understand L7 networking fundamentals, including load balancing, DNS, TLS, and HTTP routing, and be able to debug the request path from edge to workload.
- Be willing and able to join a Follow-The-Sun on-call rotation from APAC or EMEA hours and work effectively in a distributed, async-first team with strong written communication.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot platform issues, advise engineering teams on platform use, and participate in support during the region's hours.
- Monitor and triage alerts, join and declare incidents, lead debugging and escalation, and drive blameless post-mortems and follow-up actions.
- Own the production change path using GitHub Actions, Argo CD, and Helm, including release tooling across multiple clusters and regions.
- Operate high-traffic edge and API gateway infrastructure.
- Operate internal engineering tools, including Grafana, Sentry, Teleport, Metabase, and Atlantis, as production services.
- Build self-service capabilities and paved paths for engineers, advancing Platform-as-a-Product.
- Deliver platform improvement projects end to end, from problem definition through production operation.
