- Have at least 5 years of platform or backend engineering experience.
- Have experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Bring strong Python proficiency, or deep Go or Rust expertise and willingness to work in Python.
- Have experience building task orchestration systems.
- Have experience improving platform reliability and participating in on-call.
- Bring application-level engineering experience in addition to infrastructure work.
- Have a track record of owning and scaling core infrastructure, demonstrated through senior-level responsibility, rapid growth in scope, or experience in a fast-growing startup.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and optimizing model serving is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve the platform that runs document processing jobs, focusing on speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with machine learning teams to serve in-house models efficiently.
- Integrate in-house models into production workflows.
- Build and maintain databases, task orchestration, workload scheduling, and cloud deployments.
- Improve distributed systems by addressing latency, reliability, and scaling challenges.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for platform health.
