Requirements
- Have at least 2 years of professional writing experience; healthcare, pharmacy, or life sciences experience is preferred.
- Provide an established freelance or independent writing business; having other clients is preferred.
- Provide your own equipment and software.
- Provide a portfolio or writing samples demonstrating range across web, email, long-form, and social formats.
- Have a bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of grammar, style, and editing.
- Be familiar with SEO and content management systems such as WordPress.
- Be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work independently, manage simultaneous projects, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit website, blog, email campaign, social media, and patient and provider education content.
- Translate complex pharmacy and compounding topics into clear, accessible language for patients and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate.
- Ensure clinical content is reviewed and approved by a pharmacist before publishing.
- Follow applicable regulatory guidelines and company policies, and avoid unsupported claims about compounded medications.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across channels.
- Apply SEO best practices to improve search visibility for web content.
- Research industry trends, competitors, and audience needs to inform content ideas.
- Deliver completed work by agreed project deadlines.
