Requirements
- Hold a Ph.D. in Economics, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience; or an equivalent M.S. with 8+ years of relevant demonstrable research experience.
- Have experience in the Life Sciences industry and applying analytics and AI/ML to related datasets.
- Have hands-on experience building or deploying LLM-based systems, including prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows, or fine-tuning.
- Bring advanced, in-depth data science and AI expertise, including classification, pattern recognition, clustering, feature analysis, NLP, fuzzy matching, sentiment analysis, A/B testing, and active/adaptive learning.
- Have proven leadership experience managing teams of 10+ people.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and quantitative skills, including identifying root causes and recommending solutions to non-standard problems.
- Explain complex technical and AI-driven solutions effectively to team members and clients, orally and in writing.
- Be comfortable with changing requirements and priorities.
- Be results-oriented and able to proceed with incomplete information and minimal supervision.
- Advanced experience with AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks is a plus.
- Data pipeline building skills and product development experience are a plus.
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex, or vector databases, is a plus.
- Experience designing AI-native products or workflows is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Data Science function within the Global Analytics Team in line with Analytics Business Consulting goals.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and analysts.
- Partner with Global Analytics leadership to turn the Data Science AI strategy into team priorities and delivery plans.
- Own global methodology for model management, observability, testing, and deployment.
- Oversee the design and implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI/LLM models.
- Ensure robust, scalable, and efficient data and AI infrastructure for team deliverables.
- Collaborate with consulting teams to translate customer business requirements into AI-native, data-driven solutions.
- Work with product and business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities in team engagements.
- Enforce data quality, security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Implement testing procedures to validate data, ML, and AI model accuracy and reliability.
