Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant professional experience in software development or technical leadership, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have at least five years leading or performing on contracts or projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
- Bring hands-on WordPress and Drupal experience, including theming, custom module or plugin development, and content architecture.
- Have experience migrating or consolidating content management platforms.
- Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs across multiple systems and platforms.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party plugins, extensions, and commercial solutions, using sound judgment about when to configure existing tools versus build custom solutions.
- Demonstrate experience in enterprise environments and modernizing existing platforms.
- Understand accessible development and design practices, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1.
- Have a track record leading technical teams and mentoring team members.
- Have experience presenting to and building relationships with clients and executive stakeholders.
- Have experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and implementation decisions across WordPress, Drupal, Salesforce, and API integrations.
- Guide the modernization of legacy and evolving platforms into scalable enterprise systems.
- Set coding standards, review architecture and code, and improve technical practices.
- Ensure development and design work meets Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
- Partner with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams to maintain secure, reliable, documented systems.
- Support the Project Manager as the technical client contact and explain technical tradeoffs to stakeholders.
- Lead release planning and prioritization, surfacing risks, recommendations, and delivery tradeoffs.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.
- Develop the technical roadmap with the Project Manager and contribute to client and planning presentations.
- Drive quality through code reviews, automated testing, and secure development practices.
