Requirements
- Have extensive experience with one or more Unix command-line interfaces, including zsh or bash, non-graphical text editors, git, and common system administration utilities.
- Have extensive experience using AWS resources to deploy highly available web application platforms.
- Have experience implementing Infrastructure as Code.
- Have experience applying security tools, controls, and policies.
- Have experience configuring and orchestrating CI/CD pipelines.
- Have experience deploying and orchestrating containerized resources such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Have broad knowledge of AWS resources, including EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudFront, ElastiCache, SQS, Route 53, ELB, and Lambda.
- Have broad knowledge of DNS, CDNs, load balancers, web servers, application servers, MySQL databases, and networking concepts including TCP/UDP, RFC 1918 subnets, and NAT.
- Be familiar with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Be familiar with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other automated task management tools.
- Be familiar with web application development using HTML, CSS, and contemporary frameworks in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Be familiar with non-web scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript (Node.js), or Go.
Responsibilities
- Improve internal automation using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Maintain the infrastructure control plane and add new features.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues during an on-call rotation of roughly one week per month.
- Collaborate with the Director of DevSecOps and SRE team to improve security, reliability, performance, and cost of hosted resources.
- Collaborate with product development teams on application deployment and operational factors.
- Assist support and integration teams with deployment and operational aspects of customer environments.
- Improve knowledge of site reliability best practices and technical skills in security, automation, networking, and system operations.
