Requirements
- Experience in observability, especially OpenTelemetry, or building a central control plane that manages fleets of collectors is a strong advantage.
- Be comfortable working with autonomous engineering teams in technical and product decision-making.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of technical trends and the challenges engineering teams face.
- Collaborate across time zones and cultures in a fully remote environment.
- Demonstrate clear, empathetic communication to build trust and psychological safety.
- Manage complexity, align stakeholders, and elevate team performance.
- Ground decisions and technical choices in customer needs.
- Have a solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
- Be comfortable using AI-assisted tools; practical experience incorporating AI-powered tools into a team workflow is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop backend and frontend engineers, providing feedback and supporting career growth.
- Collaborate with go-to-market to support customer and prospect success with observability collection.
- Work with product and engineering leadership to integrate Fleet Management, the Kubernetes Monitoring Helm Chart, and the Instrumentation Hub into the Grafana Cloud user experience.
- Guide projects from early ideation through planning, execution, and post-launch.
- Foster a psychologically safe environment where engineers can learn, experiment, and improve.
- Partner across team boundaries and functions to solve customer problems.
