Experience
5 to 8 years working on SEC or CFTC matters

Requirements

  • Have 5 to 8 years of experience working on SEC or CFTC matters at an agency, in a law firm regulatory practice, at a trade association, or on an in-house regulatory or policy team.
  • Bring strong working knowledge of federal securities and commodities law and the rulemaking process, including notice and comment, staff guidance, no-action relief, and exemptive relief.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing, with comment letters, regulatory submissions, or similar work product.
  • Have existing relationships with agency staff, congressional staff, or industry coalitions.
  • Be able to learn how onchain lending works and explain it clearly and accurately to a non-technical audience.
  • Use sound judgment about when to escalate and prepare positions for sign-off rather than setting them alone.
  • Show ownership and autonomy in managing work.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely asynchronously across a team split between Paris, New York, and DC.
  • Be comfortable operating in fast-changing, ambiguous contexts.
  • Prior SEC or CFTC staff experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track SEC, CFTC, Treasury, and FinCEN rulemakings, guidance, staff statements, and enforcement relevant to onchain lending, and maintain a calendar of comment deadlines with recommended postures.
  • Lead comment letters, responses to requests for comment, and other written submissions, gathering input from Protocol, Product, Research, and outside counsel for General Counsel sign-off.
  • Prepare and lead meetings with agency staff and commissioner offices, including briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up submissions.
  • Represent Morpho in trade association working groups and industry coalitions, and coordinate input into joint filings.
  • Engage congressional offices and committee staff on legislation and implementation affecting DeFi lending.
  • Manage outside policy counsel and consultants, including scope, deliverables, and spend.
  • Brief leadership and product teams on US policy developments and flag implications for the protocol, products, and external messaging.
