Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have at least three years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Have extensive knowledge of Medicare Part D, including pharmacy record review, claims, billing, and reimbursement rules.
- Have working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements.
- Have working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies.
- Read, write, and speak Spanish and English proficiently.
- Have basic PC and keyboarding skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the Internet, and email.
- Hold a current, unrestricted license.
- For the Pharmacy Technician role, hold a current, unrestricted Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license.
- For the Medical Assistant role, be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants or be a Registered Medical Assistant through the American Medical Technologists.
Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to prescription refill requests by phone, email, fax, and Telephone Encounter.
- Verify refill requests for validity and accuracy in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare and dispense prescription refills according to organizational protocols and procedures.
- Communicate clearly with patients and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Compile and analyze performance data, report findings to departmental leadership, and identify trends.
- Meet assigned schedules, quality metrics, and productivity expectations.
- Provide administrative support to clinical staff and managers on projects, studies, and reports.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflow efficiency and patient care.
