Requirements
- Hold an active Medical Assistant certification from a nationally accredited institution, such as NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or NAHP.
- Have strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses to assess patient eligibility.
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills to explain complex information clearly.
- Interact with patients empathetically and sensitively.
- Pay close attention to detail when completing enrollment applications and documentation.
- Use organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple enrollments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Be familiar with EHR systems and proficient with computers, with the ability to learn new software applications.
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct when handling sensitive patient information.
- Work collaboratively and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Help patients navigate programs and adopt and use equipment.
- Document patient information, enrollment details, and program eligibility assessments in EHRs or other designated systems.
- Monitor enrollment applications and communicate with patients to facilitate the enrollment process.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on enrollment.
- Explain Medsien healthcare programs clearly to patients.
- Follow privacy regulations such as HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Work with healthcare providers, insurance companies, social workers, and other relevant parties to support patient enrollment.
