Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Health Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in finance, analytics, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of financial data analysis, statistical methodologies, and quantitative analysis.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manipulate complex datasets, develop financial models, and produce accurate reports.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using MicroStrategy or comparable business intelligence platforms.
- Strong business acumen connecting analytical findings with financial outcomes, healthcare utilization patterns, and operational priorities.
- Problem-solving skills to evaluate approaches and resolve complex analytical issues.
- Ability to present detailed analytical findings accessibly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, set objectives, and organize workflows.
- Collaboration and relationship-building skills for cross-functional work and stakeholder alignment.
- High attention to detail when preparing reports, forecasts, and analytical plans.
Responsibilities
- Analyze healthcare utilization using PMPM costs, utilization per thousand members, prevalence, and service intensity.
- Develop and maintain reports covering utilization, premiums, and pay-for-performance programs.
- Monitor monthly utilization patterns, identify trends, and prepare forecasts for financial and operational planning.
- Identify healthcare cost drivers and work with medical economics leadership on cost-management initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define reporting needs and deliver analytical insights.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate the expected and actual impact of medical cost action plans.
- Assess the financial implications of North Carolina state rate and policy changes affecting Medicaid Tailored Plans.
- Collaborate with Utilization Management teams to analyze the cost impact of new services and service-definition changes.
- Use SQL, Microsoft Excel, and MicroStrategy to create and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
- Present findings and recommendations to support operational decisions and strategic planning.
