Requirements
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and data platform development.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with data integration methods, including APIs, batch processing, streaming data, and SFTP file transfers.
- Knowledge of data warehouse architecture, data ingestion, transformation, storage, and lakehouse design.
- Experience implementing cloud security, identity and access management, and role-based access controls.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives and establish architecture standards and best practices.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience architecting enterprise-scale cloud data warehouses or lakehouse platforms is preferred.
- Experience supporting business intelligence and analytics environments using Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
- Experience with cloud data governance, data retention, and security compliance practices is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the cloud data architecture and technology strategy for the Aviation Data Analytics Warehouse.
- Design and oversee a scalable, secure, resilient, high-performing cloud data warehouse platform.
- Establish standards for data ingestion, transformation, storage, lakehouse architecture, and data retention.
- Lead integration of data from APIs, batch feeds, streaming sources, and SFTP file transfers.
- Establish API management and secure data transfer standards and best practices.
- Implement security architecture, including identity and access management, role-based access controls, and key management.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team.
- Ensure the platform architecture supports evolving data integration, analytics, and business intelligence requirements.
