Job Details

Bring 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
Spend the majority of your time building and deploying production applications and services rather than writing configuration and SQL.
Demonstrate deep proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose language, such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, Python, or TypeScript.
Have experience working on data platforms or data tooling and understand why users work with data.
Independently scope and drive ambiguous, cross-team projects from design through launch.
Demonstrate strong command of OOP, API design, and distributed systems patterns.
Bring strong communication skills and experience working across complex team and system interfaces.
Experience with experimentation platforms is a nice to have.
Experience with metrics, semantic layer, BI, or analytics platforms such as dbt, Tableau, or Superset is a nice to have.
Experience with query engines, query rewriting or optimization, or data warehouse internals is a nice to have.
Experience authoring DSLs, compilers, or APIs that abstract data transformations is a nice to have.

Build and extend Minerva's core services, including the query rewriting service.
Scope loosely defined problems with users and teams, then propose and deliver solutions.
Track semantic layer techniques and database engine capabilities to inform priorities.
Partner with teams across the company to make data easier to query and use.
Own design, implementation, testing, and on-call for the systems you build.
