Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on data science or analytics experience.
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
- Experience with Bayesian methods, regression analysis, and time-series forecasting.
- Proficiency in evaluating model performance and bias, and implementing model monitoring and bias mitigation strategies.
- Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with Python libraries such as scikit-learn, PyMC, and mlforecast.
- Familiarity with data transformation tools such as dbt.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based analytics and machine learning services, especially AWS Athena, Redshift, and SageMaker.
- Experience working with sensitive healthcare or clinical trial data under regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR.
- Clinical research or health-tech knowledge is highly valuable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance forecasting models for site randomization and enrollment trends.
- Support algorithms that match patients to, or rank patients for, appropriate clinical trials.
- Create and refine statistical and predictive models, including Bayesian inference, regression analysis, and time-series forecasting.
- Implement production model monitoring to detect bias and performance drift.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows using AWS Athena, Redshift, SageMaker, and dbt.
- Align data science practices with HIPAA, GDPR, and other privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate models into products.
- Communicate data insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
