Requirements
- Have 6+ years of experience engineering production software for Senior level, or 9+ years with cross-system architecture ownership for Staff level.
- Bring strong relational data experience, including SQL, schema design, transactions, and migrations.
- Be comfortable with modern data platforms, including warehouses, pipelines, and moving data to the right place.
- Build with quality and security in mind, including testing, accessibility, input validation, authentication and authorization, and common web security risks.
- Use AI agents for real multi-step work; write clear specs, scope tasks, provide context, and check their output against the real system.
- Approach work as a product engineer: start with the problem, ask why, and identify creative solutions.
- Make thoughtful technical judgments and favor simple, maintainable solutions.
- Contribute ideas to technical planning, welcome pushback, and give constructive feedback.
- Explain decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly to engineers and non-engineers.
- Lead technical work beyond individual tickets, including project scoping, guiding engineers, and coordinating external partners or contractors; Staff-level candidates have owned architecture across multiple systems.
- Stay curious about changing tools and practices and evaluate them based on evidence and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Build features across the front end, back end, APIs, business logic, and data layer, from ideation through production and ongoing improvement.
- Design integrations across brands, apps, and enterprise tools such as Salesforce and NetSuite.
- Handle client, employee, and financial data with security, privacy, and compliance in mind.
- Break ambiguous requirements into technical plans and reviewable units of work for people and AI agents.
- Use AI agents for research, prototyping, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation, and verify their output.
- Contribute to architecture, technology choices, and development patterns that scale with the business.
- Introduce and refine AI development practices, tools, and workflows, and help teammates adopt them.
- Improve the codebase through tests, monitoring, documentation, and scalable architecture patterns.
- Partner with product, design partners, and engineering to clarify requirements and explain trade-offs; participate in code review, pairing, onboarding, and mentorship.
