Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of backend engineering experience in Python, Go, Java, or a similar language.
- Have significant Staff+ experience owning complex, data-intensive systems.
- Have production Python experience and strong service design and testing practices.
- Demonstrate strong SQL and data modeling skills, including window functions and large-scale joins.
- Have experience with set-based, reproducible computation over a data warehouse such as Snowflake or PostgreSQL.
- Have designed extensible, configuration-driven services or rules engines.
- Apply strong system design practices for reliability, isolation, and reproducibility.
- Prioritize correctness, traceability, explainability, and reproducibility.
- Set technical patterns, review designs, and mentor engineers.
- Finance, accounting, or analytics domain experience or curiosity is a plus.
- Experience with dbt, multi-tenant or customer-hosted deployments, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, audit logging, data lineage, controls systems, regulated environments, or ML and LLM application patterns is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the core services and data-intensive computation layer of the platform.
- Build reusable, configuration-driven computation components.
- Enforce controls and guardrails over automated output.
- Ensure results reconcile and can be reproduced, traced, and audited.
- Provide technical leadership for the backend team.
- Partner with data, AI, and product teams to translate domain logic into robust, reusable services.
