Requirements
- Have 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer and a strong software engineering foundation.
- Bring strong proficiency in PHP and/or Golang, with willingness to work in both.
- Have experience designing and operating high-traffic, customer-facing systems.
- Have experience decomposing monoliths or extracting services.
- Have experience designing APIs, such as REST or GraphQL.
- Be familiar with event-driven service-oriented architectures and Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles.
- Be comfortable using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot in daily work.
- Have experience working in a cloud environment; AWS is a plus.
- Message queue experience, such as AWS SQS, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services in PHP and Go.
- Drive the extraction of services from the monolith, defining boundaries, ownership, and migration paths.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to shape technical direction.
- Design and ship APIs for agentic interfaces and automated workflows.
- Improve page speed and end-to-end performance with frontend peers.
- Contribute to high-level architectural decisions.
- Use AI to accelerate code delivery while maintaining code quality and ownership.
