Requirements
- Have seven or more years in backend forward deployment engineering, with significant Staff-level time owning complex production services.
- Demonstrate ownership of services in a multi-cloud SaaS environment and explain how isolation was guaranteed.
- Show a strong focus on correctness and traceability, including who did what, when, and on what basis.
- Bring strong API and service design experience, including versioning, contracts, and backward compatibility.
- Have practical security engineering experience with authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation.
- Have experience with Python.
- Have experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Have experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Have experience with REST API design, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Have experience writing SQL against Snowflake or PostgreSQL.
- Finance, accounting, or fintech experience—or genuine willingness to learn how financial statements are built and reconciled—is a plus.
- Multi-tenant customer-hosted deployments at scale, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 reviews, auditable systems in regulated environments, and exposure to ML or LLM application patterns are nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-tenant APIs through which the platform's results are consumed.
- Design service contracts between the application layer and the computation, data, and AI layers, and own versioning that lets contracts evolve without breaking consumers.
- Build review, approval, and exception-handling workflows for finance teams.
- Build and maintain service-layer multi-tenant isolation, authentication, authorization, and role-based access.
- Build audit trails that link user-facing figures to their computations and sources, and support enterprise security and compliance reviews.
- Build services for multi-cloud-ready, multi-tenant-ready, customer-hosted deployments with strong isolation and no data egress.
- Own service performance, reliability, cost, observability, and operational health.
- Set backend patterns, review designs, mentor mid and senior engineers, and partner with data, AI, and product teams on cross-layer service design.
