Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience in cloud governance, platform engineering, and/or operations.
- Have operated production systems at scale and carried on-call for them.
- Have undertaken a significant infrastructure migration, such as rearchitecting AWS account topology, introducing IaC for existing infrastructure, centralizing identity/SSO, or bringing a second cloud under governance.
- Have working knowledge of GCP and broad familiarity with AWS services, particularly IAM/SSO.
- Have production experience using an Infrastructure as Code tool and automation.
- Have deep experience in at least one of tooling and ecosystem, software engineering, or operations.
- Write production code in Go, Rust, or a comparable systems language and build reliable, maintainable services.
- Have operated production infrastructure, including pager duty, alerts, runbooks, and SLOs or similar prioritization methods.
- Communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders and work effectively in async, globally distributed teams.
- Be comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating toward better systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including identity, account organization, access controls, and guardrails.
- Build reusable infrastructure and platform building blocks using Infrastructure as Code.
- Create self-service capabilities that help engineers provision and manage infrastructure within defined boundaries.
- Own resource governance and visibility, including management tagging, resource inventory, ownership, and cross-account billing data.
- Develop reusable security primitives for secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, token vending, service-to-service authentication, and mTLS.
- Own cloud network and operational primitives, including IP address management, DNS, and service-limit and quota alerting.
- Build, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve owned systems.
- Establish and share cloud engineering practices through documentation, internal tooling, examples, and enablement.
