Requirements

  • Bring at least 5 years of experience in business development or technical sales.
  • Understand the construction lifecycle, specification processes, and critical project performance requirements.
  • Have a technical background in engineering, architecture, construction science, or a related discipline; preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects and relationships involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a track record of meeting or exceeding sales and business development targets.
  • Be proficient with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be willing and able to travel approximately 40–60%.
  • Have experience selling passive fire protection products or insulation materials; preferred.
  • Have technical knowledge of fire stopping, fireproofing, thermal insulation systems, or related construction technologies; preferred.
  • Bring established relationships with construction distributors, contractors, architects, engineers, or other specifiers; preferred.
  • Have familiarity with LEED, green building standards, or sustainability requirements; preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy across healthcare, data center, and adjacent occupancy markets.
  • Build relationships with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead specification activities for steel column fire protection systems and compartmentation solutions.
  • Identify, track, and influence projects from initial design through construction and sales conversion.
  • Provide technical sales support aligned with building codes, performance requirements, and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with technical, marketing, and product development teams on solutions, demand generation, and market growth.
  • Develop technical and commercial value propositions tailored to customer and project requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, construction developments, and code changes.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Maintain customer, opportunity, and project information in CRM systems and travel approximately 40–60%.
