Requirements
- Have significant professional experience in software development.
- Have a strong background designing and operating distributed systems.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with Linux/UNIX systems administration and troubleshooting complex infrastructure environments.
- Bring deep, practical security engineering experience building secure systems.
- Understand secure infrastructure, system architecture, reliability, and operational best practices.
- Be able to participate in an on-call rotation and take responsibility for production systems.
- Work effectively across engineering teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Cryptography and familiarity with cryptographic primitives or cryptosystems are highly desirable.
- Experience with HSMs, TPMs, or trusted execution environments such as AMD SEV, Intel SGX, or Apple Secure Enclave is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, or comparable secrets-management technologies is a plus.
- Experience with Go and/or Python in infrastructure or security-focused environments is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Salt or similar infrastructure automation tooling is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and continuously improve distributed systems for secrets and key management.
- Strengthen and re-architect internal PKI, machine identity, and workload identity systems.
- Develop software and infrastructure that enables engineering teams to securely build, deploy, and operate products.
- Troubleshoot and maintain production systems, respond to incidents, and improve reliability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to critical security and infrastructure incidents.
- Help internal engineering teams adopt and integrate security services.
- Provide technical guidance on system and product architecture and design.
- Contribute to developer tooling and infrastructure for engineering workflows.
- Share technical knowledge and improvements with teammates.
