Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, a master's degree and at least 3 years, a PhD and at least 1 year, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Have experience designing, deploying, administering, and supporting cloud-based solutions.
- Have experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Have strong experience architecting, maintaining, and administering Linux and Windows operating systems in large enterprise environments.
- Have a background in IT systems design, deployment, administration, and operational support.
- Be able to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 support.
- Understand enterprise infrastructure, system security, operational reliability, and cybersecurity principles in cloud environments.
- Be comfortable working in Agile development environments.
- Be willing to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- A cloud service certification such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or a comparable credential is preferred.
- Programming experience and technical or team leadership experience are advantageous.
- Knowledge of cloud database technologies such as MySQL RDS and PostgreSQL is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide system administration support to engineering, development, and testing teams while maintaining system security standards.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain AWS and hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise systems and applications, providing Tier-2 and Tier-3 support.
- Support the architecture, deployment, maintenance, and administration of Linux and Windows systems in large enterprise environments.
- Collect and analyze system data to identify issues, performance trends, and infrastructure improvements.
- Support network upgrades and infrastructure changes while minimizing operational disruption.
- Produce technical documentation, system diagrams, and artifacts describing infrastructure configurations and engineering work.
- Contribute to IT systems design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management.
- Apply cloud security principles and enterprise security standards to infrastructure design and administration.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members as appropriate.
