Job Details

Bring strong software engineering fundamentals in Scala, Java, Kotlin, or another production language.
Be able to read, modify, test, and review service code in a large shared codebase.
Have experience with build systems, dependency management, CI, or test infrastructure.
Be familiar with systems such as Bazel, SBT, Maven, Gradle, or GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
Be able to debug complex build, test, and developer workflow failures and turn repeated issues into fixes, tooling, documentation, or automation.
Use AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar systems for real engineering work.
Break complex AI-assisted tasks into plans, prompts, verification steps, and review loops with appropriate human oversight and safety guardrails.
Work with service teams, explain trade-offs, keep stakeholders informed, and make progress in ambiguous technical areas.
Apply a product-minded approach to developer experience, including usability, feedback loops, and adoption.

Build and refine systems engineers use to compile, test, package, and validate changes.
Contribute to shared libraries, frameworks, build patterns, and service development practices.
Improve CI feedback loops while preserving quality and release confidence.
Turn recurring developer pain points into tools, documentation, automation, and platform improvements.
Use AI tools and agent-based workflows to accelerate platform work and automate repetitive tasks.
Partner with service teams to understand needs and support adoption of developer platform improvements.
Contribute directly to the Bazel build platform and core Scala libraries shared by services.
